Last week, Arsene Wenger had come forth and admitted that the deal to capture the forward was ninety percent complete and that just a few formalities were left to be taken care of. With the way things are going now, it seems like the team has successfully
completed the transfer and are now just waiting to get the medical done, before they can unveil the forward as a Gunner.
Nicollin didn’t come forth and claim that the striker had joined Arsenal, but hinted that his potential transfer away from the club had been completed.
When asked about the striker and what he thought of his transfer/ potential transfer which was set to take place, he responded by stating: "I wish him well because he's a good kid”
His son, Laurent also went on to follow in the footsteps of his father, as he claimed that negotiations had flown rather smoothly and that the two teams had actually agreed on just what to do, for quite some time now.
"The negotiations have gone very well," said Laurent.
"We have been in agreement for some days now."
Last season, the striker went on to claim the French League top goal scorer award, following his twenty one goal season. He also helped the team claim the Ligue 1 title along the way.
The striker was linked with a number of teams, but with Arsenal showing the most interest in him and stepping up the chase to land him, it seems like they eventually did end up landing their man.
The team is believed to have gone on to meet the forward’s buyout clause, which is set at some fifteen million Euros.
With almost all the details of the transfer now being completed, it seems like it is a mere wait till the striker is unveiled at the club and officially hailed as a Gunner.
Nonetheless, it is still anoboides guess as to how the North London club will perform this coming season, with all the new signings that they have made.
