It is being reported that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are looking to spend big in the winter transfer window, following the club making a decent profit this year.
This past summer, the Gunners went on to offload the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, both of whom went on to be sold for a very decent price.
These two transfers came after the trio of Cesc Fabregas, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Samir-Nasri-c32360 and Gael Clichy were allowed to leave the club the previous year.
With the team offloading so many players, they have gone on to bring in a couple of new faces on the cheap. As a result of these cunning tactics in the transfer market, the team has managed to make a very healthy profit.
However, this time around it seems like the club won’t just keep the profit to themselves, but will actually spend big in the transfer market.
Peter Hill-Wood has gone on to suggest that the board will make fund available for use in January, and that it is going to be up to Arsene Wenger to spend the money if he wants to.
"If Arsene wants to use that money during the winter window then, absolutely, he will be able to do it.”
"We rely on him to come up with the right people and there will be funds available to him.”
"The financial results were good and we want to put that money to use if Arsene decides he wants more players but if the manager wants to reinforce the squad in January, he will be able to do that.”
"I like to think that the profit shows we are running the club on the right lines.
"We are not able, for instance, to be able to afford to write off £180 million. That is not how we work."
At the moment, one of the names being linked with a move to Arsenal is that of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radamel-Falcao-c30276. The Atletico Madrid forward has been linked with a move out of the club due to the bad financials of the region, and with the North London club having surplus
cash to spend, it seems like the move could potentially end up taking place.
