Arsenal duo, Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny still hopeful of winning the Premier League title: EPL News
Arsenal duo, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wojciech-Szczesny-c36998, still believe that the Gunners can win the English Premier League title in the current 2010-11 season.
With only six matches left to play, Arsenal drift the league leaders Manchester United by six points. Wilshere is expecting an end season slump for United, which could enable his side to win the title.
The Red Devils lost to Manchester City in the semi-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday, 16 April, 2011. Wilshere is confident that the FA Cup defeat will have its consequences on the league form for United, as his team also suffered when they crashed out of the UEFA Champions League a month ago. The Gunners have been able to win just one game since the Champions League exit, but the young mid-fielder is confident that his team can overturn the six point deficit.
Talking to the reporters Wilshere said, “I definitely still believe we can win the title. We are confident United will drop points. We suffered after we lost to Barca in the Champions League. It was a hard two weeks for us and now the same can happen to United. They lost at Wembley and then have a big Champions League semi-final [against Schalke] coming up. Maybe that can put them off.”
Wilshere’s team-mate and the club's goal-keeper, Szczesny is also confident of his team’s chances of triumphing in the Premier League. The 21-year-old has urged his team-mates to win the next game against Tottenham Hotspur at the White Hart Lane on Wednesday, 20 April, to pile up the pressure on United. The Polish goal-keeper believes that after the Tottenham game, the fixture list will be easy for his side and they have the ability to win all the remaining matches.
Talking to the reporters Szczesny said: "Of course we still believe we can win the title. We still have to play United and they also have to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. They will drop points and we believe we're good enough to win every game remaining."
Szczesny is dearly hoping that Manchester United will drop points when they face Newcastle United on Tuesday, 19 April.
