Arsenal edge closer to landing Gary Cahill and Christopher Samba – Premier League Update
It seems like Arsenal might finally be on the brink of bringing in some much needed defensive reinforcements. The Gunners are currently reported to be holding advanced talks with the defensive duo of, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christopher-Samba-c9212.
These two transfers seem to have been a long time coming, but, it seems like Arsene Wenger has finally seen the light and is willing to not hold anything back, in his team’s title challenge this coming season.
Samba, who is currently employed by Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, was reported to be on the brink of making the switch to the Emirates, this past January. However, the player ultimately chose not to make the switch.
Nonetheless, should the Gunners secure the player’s services, it is bound to cost them around ten million pounds to do so.
Gary Cahill, who is currently a Bolton Wanderers player, had been in high demand in the Premier League previously. In fact, at one point last season, the player was being linked with around five of the top ten teams in the Premier League. Nonetheless, with
Bolton pricing the player at a ridiculous 20 million+, his move was halted.
However, Arsene Wenger seems to have called the team’s bluff and will be looking to make a much more reasonable and realistic bid worth around fourteen million pounds for the defender.
Now, should http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 land the duo, it could potentially mark the end of a disastrous defensive run for the Gunners.
This past season, Arsenal’s defensive frailties were exposed time and time again. Ever since http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 got injured, the team just couldn’t manage to get a solid defensive partnership going and this resulted in countless defensive catastrophes, which
ultimately accounted to be one of the reasons for the team’s terrible end to the season.
However, all of that is set to change, should Samba and Cahill be brought into the club. Not only will the team finally get a much needed boost to their vertical average, but, they would also finally become half decent at defending set pieces and could prove
to be dangerous on corners.
It is now going to be a wait for another couple of weeks to see exactly how these move evolve, since there has been no real confirmation regarding these moves by either of the two clubs, or the players.
As a result, until any http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 confirmation is made public, regarding this transfer, everyone can just sit and assume that things are shaping up rather well for the Gunners.
