Arsenal edge closer to landing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ricardo-c30950 Alvarez from Velez Sarsfield – Premier League Update
It seems like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-c9045 Bassedas, the teams stands almost
no chance of keeping Alvarez at the club.
The twenty three year old Argentine has been hailed to be the next big thing out of the country and he has gone on to win admiration from all across Europe and he has been made a potential target for a wide array of cubs.
The Gunners are being hailed as the favourites to land the player, despite http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, Malaga and Palermo also being interested in the player.
Bassedas has gone on to realize that the possibility of keeping Alvarez around for much longer is close to impossible for the team and has hence gone on to place a price of ten million Euros on the player.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 director is quoted to have said: "It is impossible for him not to go, we cannot retain him"
"There are offers that are [irrefutable]... not just because of the [economic] figure, but if Arsenal come, well... then you have to tell the player 'look, you deserve it'. Ricky has a lot to win."
These comments have come only a day after the Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini went on to reveal that Arsenal were interested in landing the midfielder. In fact, Zamparini even went as far as to suggest that Alvarez had already signed for the Gunners,
which is why his move to Palermo would no longer be possible.
No matter what way this transfer rumour is looked at, it seems like the Gunners are on route to land another highly talented midfielder, who has a lot to prove over the course of the coming years.
It is kind of surprising that Arsene Wenger even decided to go ahead and make a move for another midfielder, but, perhaps the manager feels that Alvarez can provide something to the team that was missing this past season.
At the same time, if we step back and look at the bigger picture, Alvarez might just be a future replacement for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Abou-Diaby-c3453, who is yet to prove himself for Arsenal and a player whose injuries seem to be a recurring nightmare for the club.
That being said, Arsenal are expected to land the player before the 4th of July, next month and hence it is now a wait to see exactly how this potential move plays out.
