Arsenal are apparently confident over the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 will stick around at the Emirates, despite the striker coming forth and revealing that he is not going to renew his contract with the team.
The Dutch international went on to use his official website to come forth and reveal that he wasn’t going to be putting pen to paper on a contract extension. The player labelled his decision down to him not agreeing with the way the club was supposed to
progress and how the hierarchy saw the team moving forward.
Despite this fact, the team is confident that he will go on and see out his contract with the team, instead of pushing for a move out of the club in the summers.
A statement that was released by the club in response to Van Persie’s comments on his website is quoted to have said: "We have to respect Robin's decision not to renew his contract. Robin has one year to run on his current contract and we are confident that
he will fulfil his commitments to the club.”
"We are planning with ambition and confidence for next season with Arsenal's best interests in mind."
It is believed that the club and the player were already well aware of what was going to happen in the future, as they had initial talks about his future a couple of months ago.
These talks could be the reason for Arsene Wenger moving into the transfer market and signing both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896 and Olivier Giroud.
Initially, no one was quite sure as to why the manager was bringing two strikers. Now with the Van Persie situation finally being revealed, it has become clear that the team weren’t going to be taking any chances and went on to sign the best possible players
to replace him.
At the moment, it is quite unclear as to what the forward is going to be doing in regards to his future, but with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 admitting they want to see him run out his contract, it is going to be interesting to see how the player responds to the team’s plans.
