  1. One question I wished i could answer, but if wenger says so then who am i to doubt it, from what I've seen so far he does look a class player, and if he does turn into the new Pires then wenger has struck gold again

  2. as i typr this, sky sports just say nasri is out this week with a thigh strain. just our bloody luck.

  3. Pires is an Arsenal legend

Will Nasri be as good as Pires ? Hard to say at this stage, Nasri looks like he has decent skills, but looked nervous almost hesistant to take the ball and run at players and beyond them, something this Arsenal team miss at the moment, as only really Robin does this, the rest prefer to pass the opponents to death, which unfortunately is easy to defend against as most teams now realise

I miss Pires and I think Arsenal miss him a lot more than what people give credit. Pires used to make chances with little touches, deft dribbling and sheer determination. He used to be quite a direct player, attacking defenders and the goal when in possesion and not only taking outrageous shots but scoring them too. Rosicky has hinted at being such a player, but injury's stopped him short. Hleb was talked up to be such a player but always preferred to turn his back and pass instead of dribbling past players or scoring spectacular goals

But it's early days, and if Wenger says Nasri'sgood, he's good, and if he stays at Arsenal under Wenger's guidance, he will only get better

  4. Yes, I think it.

Nasri can be the Pires's successor.

  5. I dont think so. Pires was a legend at Arsenal.

But good luck to Nasri at Arsenal

  6. I think he'll do well at Arsenal, he's only young but already amazing. Got his first goal on Sat. and played good. I hope he gets premier league starts instead of being on the bench because he could do really well. I hope he's something like R.Pires, both French and play in similar positions as you said, so yeah he can be like Robert!

    :]

  7. if he continues playing the way he does and scores frequently ,then he has great chances of becoming a legend of arsenal like was pires

  8. if he scores every time we play the spuds, than he be a great player like pires was

  9. Why not? The boy's only 21 and has huge potential.

  10. yes he will be

  11. Not too sure to be honest, Pires was great, loved watching him and

  12. I might not be an Arsenal fan but i think Nasri is already better than Pires i used to be a fan of Pires but Nasri is already a very good central midfielder and he's going to become much better to.

  13. Maybe not yet...Cause he is quite new to the English system... Maybe in a few years to come. Pires is a great player too...

  14. Samir Nasir the promising one,who can replace both pires and hleb.

  15. what audience are you going for with your post ?

    IF ANYONE REMEMBERS PIRES ?????

that was only a few seasons back, now if you were going to compare him to a real legend liam brady i could understand, at the moment pires is head and shoulders above nasri, apart from his goal on saturday he didn't excite me !

  16. Wenger compared the situation when he bought Overmars and Nasri. Both were injured and became great players for Arsenal. He also said that the young French player does remind him of Pires, someone who can evade past defenders, pass a teasing ball into the opponent's half and even scoring a goal himself.

However, I believe every player has his own style, although he can definitely have Pires as a role-model or someone to look up to, as he continues to play. The bottom line is, I think he could definitely be an integral part of Arsenal.

  17. yea, he is good.

  18. Already the similarities are uncanny! The same pace, most definitely.

Robert Pires was and still is one of my favourite Ex Arsenal players, and for Arsene to spot the potential (again) in someone so young and compare him to an Arsenal great like Robert Pires at such an early stage of Nasri's Arsenal career is credit well deserved, and i hope Samir shall continue how he has begun and prove not only to Arsene that he was right, but also to himself that he CAN become an Arsenal great too.

I believe Arsene has, again, found a star in the making.

  19. Yes - he will grow to be as good as Pires, not sure if better or not but we'll see.
