Arsenal fans can I have your thoughts on yesterdays game?

I was watching the Liverpool vs Boro game yesterday, 2 goals in the last 4 minutes to get the 3 points, Carragher deflected goal and Gerrard winning it in the last 10 seconds, now that was a real comeback. Ok now what was wrong with Arsenal ?I can’t remember a more gutless, insipid performance so totally lacking in energy and imagination. Eboue playing in the middle, one word about him....c**p. Denilson had a very bad game giving the ball away all the time, Van Persie missing his free kicks, Wenger losing it in the final few minutes, theres still a loooooooong way to go. We were very poor yesterday I am gonna admit that now, with a fit squad, no injuries we all know that Arsenal can beat anyone. Going 5 years back Arsenal had Henry, Pires, Bergkamp, etc etc enough players to come up with some magic and win the game for us. Match winners. Champions League qualifier against Twente midweek few players expected I hope we put up a good performance. Arsenal fans finally what do you have to say about the game yesterday, the squad..... is it good enough ??

Thanks.

  1. well to tell you the truth arsene needs to sit adebayor 1st of all hes playing bad second he has vela hes a young prodigy as also walcot and nasri he needs to put vela and walcott as starters and he will se results

  2. Yesterday i thought it to be poor coordination and lack of top class ability in mid field and poor form of forwards

however, now i feel it may be a case of under- performance, denilson had a poor game, so did nasri, clichy was running all out but still couldn't pass.

the only concern to me is forwards, classy strikers like RVP, should be finishing or be on target more often. Adebayor, though is not selfish but is passing at the wrong time in the d.

still it is also true that we will see a complete different mid field when everyone gets fit, so lets see how we do coming week

  3. Don't make a big deal over one game. Just because they don't stay unbeaten doesn't mean they're useless.

The squad is very good and energetic, and I hope for football easy on the eye. They just had one bad game, and I think it is unfair to say this will derail their season - Man Utd losing to City and Bolton last season wasn't too much of a derailer.

A club only has problems if it has serious trouble winning, like the series of losses and draws Arsenal had at the end of last season.

Man Utd had a very slow start last season, and we all know where they ended up.

    Wait and watch.

  4. arsenal r flukes and they deserve this

  5. (Sorry Aminda, just a very nosey Chelsea supporter!)

I didn't get to watch the Fulham match.

But I have to say that Arsenal most likely missed Fabregas. I did watch the West Brom match and while they created many oppurtunities they did have periods where they slacked off, and really did miss quite a few chances, Adebayor a culprit there.

With Adebayor, last season few criticised him for missing chances because he took enough to win matches. It is starting to show that he has a pretty average conversion rate. I still rate him, but he has a habit of wasting chances.

I do think that Wenger needs a proper replacement for Flamini/ Gilberto, a hard working, tireless holding midfielder. So that even when the team tends to slack off you can always rely on a particular player to do the hard yards. They do not have this particular player at the moment and there are no candidates in his squad at the moment.

So, in my opinion, they are lacking in striking options and the holding midfielder position. Wenger should have looked into that before buying Silvestre.

  6. I think this performance showed the three things we are missing, but two of them are injured.

We needed a finisher who can hit the target 90% of the time. 1 shot on target and 11 off just emphasizes that. We have that in Eduardo, but of course he's injured.

We needed a creative midfielder with precise passing and we have two of those in Fabregas and Rosicky, but both are injured.

And we needed a defensive midfielder. Denilson was very poor and is now becoming a concern. However, although others are calling for new signings, which would be nice, I wouldn't mind seeing Song in that role. I think Toure needs to stay in defense and then we have Djourou/Gallas/Senderos to partner him. (I would rather Djourou partnered Toure with Toure, Sagna or Almunia being captain).

I still think the squad is good enough, despite these injuries and problems!

  7. i think arsenal were very poor. i dont  no why denilson and eboue playd 2geva in midfield. i thought we were very slow. because normally we fizz the ball and.. well i could be here for ages. but its only 2 games in and fabregas is back n rosicky soon. CMON U GOONERZ

OOH TO OOH TO BE OOH TO BE A GOONER

  8. Arsenal really depressed me on the game they should have won 3-1

    sigh.....sigh....sigh....

  9. bad

  10. Really weak performance by Arsenal last night, Cant afford to lose games like this if they are aiming for the title.

  11. well...eboue in CM tells the story with  denilson, who isnt good enough eaither.

we missed Fabregas no dout about it, only this thats annoying me is,some fans are not getting behined adebayor, how in gods name are we going to score if our best striker isnt getting the convidence he needs.

we all have to admit that we have to play fabregas, adebayor every game,EVERY GAME!! or els we'r just an average side.

  12. aminda i think i told you pre-season two maybe three ex-arsenal players predicted they would struggle, and on the evidence so far i don't see anything to disagree with their views. who would be better placed than an a couple of ex players to voice an opinion on their prospects, btw it was hleb and leahmann.

  13. we are just lacking the midfielders

at times like this,it shows how vital for us players like fabregas and rosiscy are.too bad they couldnt play

our squad is good enough, but its just that some individual players make too many mistakes that are costly for the team and cost us valuable points just like at last seasons end when we first started showing signs of weakness after having been leading the top of the table for seven months.

  14. Well losing Helb, Silva, and Flamini and replacing them with Nasri, Ramsey, and Silvestre shows Arsenal are struggling to hold on to big players, Flamini was very underated at Arsenal and Helb was just a class act. Nasri will take time, Ramsey is for the future and Silvestre will be a good addition to the squad. Look at the strikers arsenal have on their day they are unstoppable, i think a new man in midfield is needed, dont forget their are some big names missing. I totally agree about Eboue and Denilson. But that can be replaced with Fabregas and Rosicky. Arsenal will come good when they get their players back however i think it will be to late for this season.
