Arsenal defender Gael Clichy has been of quitting the Gunners, for well over a month now. However, it seems like the defender might finally be edging to an exit from the Emirates.
Manchester City are reported to be looking to finally move ahead with their seven million pound offer for the player and will be looking to finalize the player’s capture before the  start of their pre-season tour.
Clichy is expected to head back to London by Monday, in order to be able to head into serious negotiations with the club. The twenty five year old is expected to undergo his medical at the club this coming week, before penning down a four year contract with the team.
A source from the club is quoted to have said: “He is not in the country at the moment [but the] deal is more or less done and it is hoped that Gael will be with City when the players report back for the first day of pre-season training on Tuesday”

“He is likely to undergo a medical at some point over the weekend but most of the other aspects of the transfer are agreed and he will be able to complete the formalities of the deal when he arrives in Manchester on Monday before preparations for the new season start.”
From the looks of things, Arsenal’s imminent fall apart has already started. The team is now set to lose Clichy, who is easily the best left-back that the team have at the moment.
On the other hand, City are bound to finally have a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 that is as good as their attack. Clichy has the pace, experience and technique to help propel the squad into a new direction and it seems like he actually carefully thought out his future before signing an extension.
Clichy had stated that he would only stay at the club, should the team be able to offer him some sort of guarantee that new players would be brought in and that the club would finally be able to land a trophy this coming season. However, the Gunners inability to actually confirm any transfers as yet, has now led to one of their most crucial players heading for the exit doors.
It is now going to take a miracle for Arsenal to somehow convince Clichy to stay at the club, but, the chances of that happening are pretty much nil, at the moment.
All in all, Arsenal now need to act fast, or they might just lose out on a handful of their best players.
