Arsenal keeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wojciech-Szczesny-c36998 still hopeful over title chances
Arsenal’s goal keeper, Wojciech Szczesny, has gone on to state that his team can still go on to win the Premier League crown at the end of the season.
However, the player also stated that in order to do so, the Gunners would have to go all out and beat Tottenham in their upcoming North London derby.
This past weekend, the Gunners went on to draw with Liverpool and as a result, the side dropped two crucial points, which at the moment appear to have potentially cost the team the Premier League crown.
This is because Arsenal are now trailing Manchester United by six points and with just six games left in the league, they have to play out of their skins to catch up with the Red Devils.
Nonetheless, Szczesny, just like most of the Gunners squad is keeping his hopes up high and feels that the dream is not over.
When talking to reporters following the draw with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, the young Polish keeper was reported to have said:
"Of course we still believe we can win the title. We still have to play United and they also have to play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. They will drop points and we believe we're good enough to win every game remaining”.
The shot-stopper then turned his attention to Tottenham and stated that the squad now owed the fans a performance to remember. As a result the team would be looking to go all out against their local rivals.
Szczesny then went on to add:
"Tottenham is a very good match for us to come back from a big disappointment and we owe it to the fans because they're very disappointed about what happened against Liverpool. We owe them a result at White Hart Lane”.
However, the keeper did go on to express his disappointment with the draw eventually and then went on to conclude by stating:
"The draw was a huge disappointment because with a minute to go we scored what we thought was a winning goal. We're all gutted. It was a cheap penalty to give away whether it was one or not. We needed to win really badly to keep the pressure on United”.
It seems Arsenal players are doing what they do best and that is to believe. If the team can go on to have the correct mentality all the way to the end of the season, then who’s to say that they can’t land the title of being English Champions.
However at the same time if the team keep gifting their opponents goals and keep dropping points left and right, then the race is as good as over for the team.
Nonetheless, with the Premier League having provided everyone with a fair share of twists and turns over the past years, it is safe to say that perhaps another chapter is yet to unfold in the league.
