The struggling English Premier League outfit is keen on bringing Montpellier Herault skipper, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, to Emirates Stadium as they seek on finding a cure for their ailing defence.
Arsenal have been one of those sides who seem to struggle defensively this season. The Gunners seem to run out of reliable defenders, as the London-based club seeks solutions for their inconsistent defence by signing new players. The Montpellier Herault
captain, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, is among the shortlisted players by Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger.
The defender is a product of La Paillade’s youth system, and has spent his entire career with the French outfit. Mbiwa had soon been named the captain following his promotion to the first team. The skipper is believed to be one of the most prized assets
of MHSC, one they have been determined to hold on to. However, with their recent exclusion from the Champions League, this might prove to be a hard task.
The Arsenal manager is keen on signing the youngster, and believes that a reliable centre-back like him could prove to be really handy for Arsenal. The French tactician has been a long time admirer of the 23-year-old, and wants him to play for the Gunners.
The North London club wanted to sign the player last summer, but MHSC were determined to hold on to their captain. And now with the January transfer window up-close, the English outfit will try and lure their long-time target once more.
Before the defending French Champions were knocked out of the competition, the defender refused to rule out a move away from the Montpellier and stated that he was fully focused on the upcoming fixture. The Bangui-born said:
“I am happy in this club but I am young and it is never impossible to reject a progression in this sport.”
However, following La Paillade’s exit from the European competition, the club would little to offer to the Frenchman. The London-based club would use this as an opportunity to tempt and lure the centre-back to join the Emirates Stadium.
With Sebastien Squillaci and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779 desiring to move away from the London-based club, the manager would need to bring a defender of reliable reputation to replace them. And Mbiwa seems to be the perfect option for Arsenal.
