The legendary Arsenal manager claims that Premier League is very tough this season as Wenger looks to keep the Gunners top of the table with a win against Stoke City on Saturday.
Arsenal has been beaten five times already and their last defeat came against their title rivals Manchester United by one goal at Old Trafford last Monday.
However, the Gunners are only second in the league and a win over Stoke City on Saturday would see them to top the table at least for one day as Manchester United will visit to Chelsea on Sunday.
Moreover, this campaign has seen sides right through the league give match-winning performances on their day, meaning no one can be complacent in a season where unpredictability has become a welcome trend.
Wenger said, "I don't agree with the people who say that the overall quality of the league is lower this season. In fact, you can say exactly the reverse. Last week, two quality teams - Aston Villa and Liverpool - met and both sides were in the bottom half,
so that opinion is not really proven by concrete facts. The whole Premier League is more difficult for everybody and what you call mid-table teams and bottom-table teams have improved - every single game today is a cup game for everybody."
Moreover, Arsenal manager says Arsenal number-14 shirt holder, Theo Walcott, will soon start for the team in near future. Theo has started only once for the Gunners in English league since returning from an ankle injury two months ago and has expressed his
frustration at the condition. The 21-year-old speedy winger came on as a substitute against Partizan Belgrade and scored the crucial goal for Arsenal in the dying minutes of the game.
In addition to that, Theo Walcott admitted he is at the age where he needs to be starting matches on a regular basis. Arsenal manager admitted Theo's current predicament, but believes Walcott will get his opportunity in the coming weeks.
The French manager of the Gunners said, "Frankly I can understand that because for me Theo Walcott is doing well. For me he is not an impact player, he is a regular player. At the moment he does not play as often as he should but he will play soon. In fairness,
Theo is fantastic. His attitude and behaviour has been absolutely great."
Arsenal have already qualified for the round of 16 in UEFA Champions League and are drawn against FC Barcelona. Last season, Arsenal faced Barcelona in the quarter-finals of the same competition and the Gunners were defeated by Spanish Giants by four goals
to nil.
Arsenal will welcome Stoke City at Emirates on Saturday to play the eighteenth fixture of Barclays Premier League. Last time when these both sides met, it was back in February at Stoke’s home and Arsenal won that match by three goals to one. However, Arsenal
had to face a tragedy in that fixture as Wenger’s one of the young gun, Aaron Ramsey, was badly injured in that match.
