Oliver Giroud is going to be a Gunner very soon after Arsenal officially approached Montpellier for the signature of their star striker
Arsene Wenger, the coach of Arsenal, has been courting the striker for some time and now the French manager has finally approached Montpellier Herault in order to attain the services of their top scorer.
Olivier Giroud was a revelation for Montpellier last season in which the 25-year-old scored 25 goals and helped his side win the Ligue 1 title for the first time in club’s history. The Frenchman is all set to join Germany’s Lukas Podolski in a new-look Arsenal
side.
Montpellier would not settle for anything less than 13 million Euros for their top scorer who is a part of Laurent Blanc’s Euro 2012 squad.
While talking to reporters, Rene Girard, the Montpellier coach has disclosed that the negotiations have taken place between the two clubs and the Frenchman believes that Giroud would soon join Arsene Wenger’s side.

According to reports, Arsenal have failed to convince Robin van Persie to sign a new contract and the rumours of the Dutchman leaving Emirates stadium are increasing. Arsene Wenger has previously claimed that he would add a proven goal scorer to his squad
who could share the goal scoring responsibilities with the team captain
The Frenchman has already added Podolski and now the likely addition of Giroud points to the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380. Several clubs are interested in signing the Dutchman, who scored 37 goals last season. Persie was voted PFA Players’ Player of the
Year and Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year last season.
