Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn says Cesc Fabregas might leave at end of current season – EPL news
Arsenal legend Nigel Winterburn feels that is highly likely that the Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas leaves at the end of the ongoing 2010-11 English Premier League season.
Fabregas has been one of the North London club’s most prized assets and the legend believes that if the right offer is made, the Spaniard might be taking a bus back to his hometown. Only last summer, Barcelona looked more than eager to re-sign their youth
player. Having made a series of offers to tempt the Arsenal manager, the Catalans remain a keen admirer of the young prodigy.
The Arsenal number 4 has already made a name for himself in not only club but international football. It was the central midfielder’s assist in the FIFA World Cup final 2010 that saw the Spanish side knick the game in the end against a spirited http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Netherlands-c753.
Noted for his vision as he can not only thread a defence piercing pass to the striker in front with dead accuracy but also has the intelligence to keep the ball rolling and bring the rest of the team into the game. Fabregas is himself a good striker as he
has often broken the deadlock with his long-range shooting.
In 2010, Arsene Wenger refused to entertain any approach from Barcelona coach Josep Guardiola seeing as he was not keen to let go of his midfield talisman with the club destined for greatness in the near future. However, after yet another fruitless season,
a trophy drought that has extended to six seasons now, Nigel Winterburn feels that things might be a touch different this time.
The Arsenal legend commented, “Arsene Wenger does not need to change everything but one big question mark hangs over Fabregas, and we all know Barcelona will come calling again.”
He further added, “If Arsenal get the right offer I feel there is every chance he will go this time. But if he does, it may not be the disaster ¬everyone thinks it will be. No player has ever been bigger than the club.”
