Arsenal looking to bid for Lukas Podolski – Premier League Update
Based on a number of rumours that have been floating about, it is being reported that Arsenal are looking to make a move for FC Koln striker http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukas-Podolski-c22896.
The German international has been on the Gunners radar for quite some time now, but it seems like the team is finally ready to make a move for the player.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 to provide the goals for them so far this season, but the striker seems to finally be giving in due to fatigue.
At the same time, the team doesn’t really have any other player who can fill in for the forward. The team has the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marouane-Chamakh-c24294 and Park Chu Young, but the duo are nowhere near being as good as Van Persie.
As a result, the team is looking to bring in a player, who take some of the load off, of the striker, while providing him some support, in case the team decides to field two forwards on the pitch.
Podolski has been turning heads with his brilliant performances over the last couple of seasons and has been linked with a number of teams over the last couple of seasons.
However, for some odd reason, all this interest has not really
materialized into anything solid and the player has been left with Koln for much longer than he would have liked.
With the January window approaching, the Gunners are more than likely to step up their interest in the forward.
Should the North London side go on and make a move for the striker, then it is safe to say that he would be used in a number of positions for the team.
Apart from playing as an all out striker, the Gunners are more than likely to use the player as a winger and an attacking midfielder when required.
At the moment the forward is being valued at some twelve million pounds, but should the North London club get into negotiations with Koln, they could potentially land the player for a fee much lower than that one.
