Arsenal looking to make bargain swoop to reinforce defense
Arsenal's manager, Arsene Wenger has been reported to have been put on red alert, following news that Athletic Bilbao's goal keeper, Gorka Iraizoz, is available for a possible move to the Emirates. The twenty nine year old keeper
has been reported to have gone public with claims stating that he wishes to move away from the club as soon as possible.
The keeper has however also been on Barcelona’s radar for quite a while, with his contract looking to expire in June, the team will be looking to get a maximum profit off the sale of their first choice keeper.
The other player who Arsenal have set their sights on, is the Italian Under 21 super star, Angelo Ogbonna. The player, who is eligible to play for both the Italian and the Nigerian national teams is valued at five and a half million
pounds, and could also be on his way to the Emirates. However the player is currently employed with Torino who are not very keen on letting their star defender leave the club, under any circumstance. There have also been countless offers for the defender from
within the Italian league, however Torino will be looking to sell their player to an external club, rather than an Italian one, if they were to sell the player.
These two players, are quite possibly not the players that the Arsenal fans would have had in their minds, once they found out that Wenger was finally looking to buy some reinforcements. However after being linked to countless
defensive solutions in the past, the fans will appreciate any worthy addition to the squad.
Ogbonna is currently playing in the Serie B, which means that a move to the Premier League will be a huge leap for the player. However with him still being under 21 and having the capabilities to adapt, he might just be the player
that Arsenal really need for the future.
Along with that, Gorka Iraizoz, has started to emerge in the spotlight over the recent weeks, thanks to his superb performances. With the player knowing that he is currently regarded highly in Europe, he is opting for a switch
to a bigger club.
However after reading the above mentioned news, one does start to wonder if Wenger will ever make that big name signing that everyone has expected him to make for the last decade now.
