Arsenal looking to offer Theo Walcott contract extension – Premier League Update
It seems like Arsenal are finally looking to tie down their senior players on long term contracts, as the club is set to head into contract talks with a number of their players.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 are all nearing an end on their current contract with the team and as  a result, the club is now in a rush to offer the players new deals, in order to prevent them from leaving in the summer
transfer window.
Van Persie has already gone ahead and stated time and time again that he will decide his future at the club, once his current contract comes to an end, but he will continue to give his team a hundred percent, every time he steps onto
the pitch.
As a result, the team is now focusing all of its attention of Walcott, so that they can tie the player down before January and then focus on the other players in the summers.
Walcott is currently on a sixty thousand pounds a week contract with the team, which he agreed to back in 2009. However, it is now believed that the team will be looking to offer the winger a deal which will see him make around eighty
thousand pounds a week.
Walcott himself has been kind of quiet over a new contract with the club and has so far avoided talking about it.
However, when asked about what he would do is Arsenal were to offer him a new deal, he responded by stating:
“I will listen to what http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 have to say”
“Hopefully, we will sit down with the club soon and talk things over.”
So far this season, Walcott has managed to score only four goals for the team and has looked like he is missing the extra something, the used to help him give some of the best performances the league has ever seen.
Many believe Arsenal shouldn’t offer the player such a massive pay rise, but given the way the team’s star players left in the summers, it seems like the team is not willing to take any chances, as they look to retain their current
starting eleven.
