Arsenal manager's Arsene Wenger wants Gunners to bounce back: Football News
Arsenal's boss Arsene Wenger has challenged his players to bounce back like a wounded tiger in the upcoming match against Manchester United. They suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Bolton Wanderers last weekend, which ended their season's long dream
of winning the Barclays Premier League.
The Gunners had an amazing start in the ongoing 2010-11 season and looked almost as one of the favourites to end their six-year trophy, at a time when they were the only club in Europe which was participating in four different competitions; UEFA Champions
League, Barclays Premier League, FA Cup and Carling Cup. However, Arsenal crashed out of the three championships within the span of a month and their poor run-in form has also put the Barclays Premier League title out of their reach.
Arsenal’s hopes of winning the first Barclays Premier League title since 2003-04 came to an end when they failed to get maximum points in the most important week of the season. The Gunners only managed to get draws against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Tottenham Hotspur.
They suffered a crushing defeat against Bolton Wanderers to put them nine points behind league's leader, Manchester United, with only four matches to go.
Arsenal will now play host to Manchester United and although this fixture is no longer a title-decider, but Arsene Wenger wants his team to bounce back and give their best performance against Sir Alex Ferguson’s devils in order to end their season strongly.
Wenger told the reporter, “We are certainly wounded [and] we have to build up the animal until Sunday. It is vital for us [to respond]. We had a blow on Sunday with a last-minute goal and it is vital for us to show that we have some mental qualities and
finish with a very strong fighting spirit.”

Despite failing to win any silverware, Arsene Wenger still feels that Arsenal have played exceptionally well and have delivered top quality games this season.
“It's important for our pride. Because I feel until now, we delivered top quality games and once the season is over, and we look at the best games played this season, I'm sure that Arsenal has played a big part in it,” added Arsenal manager.
A win for Arsenal over Manchester United at Emirates Stadium will surely cement their place for the next year’s UEFA Champions League and put them six points behind the Red Devils.
