Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has admitted that he will need to strengthen his squad to hold any chance of winning silverware in the 2011/12 season.

After challenging for the English Premier League title for a major part of the competition, the Gunners dropped too many points and now with three matches left to play, they are out of the title race.
Arsenal have not won any major trophy since the FA Cup win in 2005 and the fans have started losing their patience. Fans and football pundits alike have criticised Arsenal for their lack of spending to bring in top players at the club. Wenger’s main priority is investing in the youth and lacks experienced individuals in his team.
Now, the Frenchman has promised that he will definitely bring in a few quality players in the summer transfer window.
Wenger said, "We have a very young team and we want to strengthen the team. Number wise, how much that will be I don't know. It depends as well who goes out, we have a big squad. You have the same problem everywhere. If you don't have enough players, people say 'why don't you have another striker on the bench?”
"It is a price to pay, I believe it is part of being a football player. Also, on the other hand you cannot reproach that the players have not performed as well as you wanted if you don't give them a chance. “
The 61-year-old added that after losing on the title race, his main focus was to guarantee a top four finish. After achieving that, now his main focus is to finish third in the season.
