Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he will not be looking to risk the fitness of Aaron Ramsey, in order to avoid facing the same situation that he encountered with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463.
With Wilshere playing nearly every game for the Gunners last season and then appearing in a majority of the pre season games, the midfielder went on to injure himself and is now set to return later this year.
Ramsey, who himself suffered a broken leg is now looking to be back to his best and as a result, Wenger is looking to tap that form, while avoiding the risk of injuring the player.
The manager admitted that the player’s winning goal against Marseille was quite exceptional and he single handily brought hope to the Gunners squad like never before.
“It was a great finish, you see Ramsey in front of goal and you know you have a good chance to score. He is a goal scorer"
However, Wenger then went on to admit that he would not want to injure the player at any cost and hence Ramsey would be given ample breaks during the course of the season.
“I do not want to overplay him. I have seen in my mind that he had been injured for a year. Wilshere played a lot last year [and is now injured]. I try to be a bit more cautious when I can.”
After having beaten Marseille in their Champions League game, Arsenal were back to their best this past weekend as they went on to cruise to a three goals to one victory over Stoke City. Once again, the Gunners midfield went on to produce a flawless performance
and Ramsey was at the heart of things.
It was Ramsey who crafted the opening goal for the team, with a delightful lofted pass over the Stoke defence to set up http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755, who chested the ball and then stroke it into the back of the net.
Over the course of the last few weeks, Arsenal have started to build on their form and have started to really get their performances back to the level that everyone has come to expect from them.
Apart from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380, who has been exceptional throughout the season, the rest of the team is also looking stronger than it has ever been and it seems like it is only a matter of time before the Gunners march back into the top four and try to push
for the Premier League crown once again.
