Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger admits interest in Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema – EPL news
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that the Gunners want to get the signature of Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, for the upcoming season. Wenger is looking to rebuild his team with new summer signings after ending yet another disappointing
trophy-less season.
Rumours claim that Arsene Wenger has already held a meeting session with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429
are expected to offer Real Madrid a lucrative €25 million fee deal for the 23-year-old.
The former Lyon player has struggled to impress Jose Mourinho this term, only cementing a place in the starting XI after Gonzalo Higuain’s lengthy injury layoff. The French International, who joined Madrid on July 1, 2009, after agreeing to a six-year-contract
contract, might decide to cut short his stay at Santiago Bernabeu after failing to become a first team regular for Los Blancos.
Wenger will have to act swiftly for the recruitment of the French International, as Manchester United are also rumoured to have shown interest in the striker. Wenger, who thinks Benzema’s inclusion can help Arsenal emerge as a stronger team next season,
confirmed that they are continuously keeping an eye on the player situation.
Ahead of the summer transfer window, Wenger said, “He’s (Benzema) intelligent in his movement, he is capable of combining well with other s and making a difference, and of doing individual moves as well. So, for me, he’s a player who’s at the top level in
the world.”
Benzema’s agent, Karim Djaziri, insisted that he did not hold any talks with Wenger. However, he admitted that a transfer might be on the cards should Benzema fail to make ample first team opportunities under Jose Mourinho. The former Lyon player, often
coming on as a substitute, netted 26 goals in a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 of 48 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s men this season.
“I went to London for personal business, not to discuss any transfer. Karim Benzema has a contract with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid so let's wait and see. He loves Madrid and wants to play every time as he loves playing football.” The agent clarified.
According to the latest reports, Real Madrid could accept a big money offer for the French International in a bid to make Emmanuel Adebayor’s loan move permanent at Santiago Bernabeu. Jose Mourinho, who is believed to have a tense relationship with Benzema,
could offload the striker in order to raise funds for a permanent Adebayor move.
