Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger eyeing Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris
Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger is reported to be considering his team’s future, as he is looking to ready a bid for Lyon’s first choice keeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hugo-Lloris-c16408.
It is no secret that Arsenal have had their fair share of problems when it comes to goals keepers and the fact that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Manuel-Almunia-c23386 is one of the two first choice keepers at the club, just shows how bad things really are for the Gunners.
At the moment Arsenal are relying on the talents of 20-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lukasz-Fabianski-c22910, was considered to
be the heir to the goal keeping throne at the Emirates, however, the keeper has just gone surgery on his shoulder and as a result is ruled out of for the rest of the season.
As a result, it seems like Wenger has been on the lookout for someone to come into the side and stabilize what can be considered to be the only weak aspect of the Gunner line-up. The manager seems to have turned no further than Lyon’s first choice keeper,
Hugo Lloris. Lloris has been considered to be one of the best keepers in the world and is currently only 24-years-old, which means he is a keeper who can stabilize any team in the long run.
If Wenger is to potentially bring in Lloris at the end of the season, then it could signal the end of Almunia’s career at the Emirates. The Spanish international has been a long-term favourtie to leave the club, but it seems like the manager was waiting
for the ideal opportunity to let go of him.
On the other hand, if Lloris is to come into the side, then it would be fairly obvious that Fabianski would be dropped down to being the second choice goalkeeper; Szczesny would go back to being the third choice at the club.
However, considering the development that the keepers have shown under Wenger over the last few seasons, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the manager let one of the two go out on a season long loan, to better hone their skills and not let them get rusty.
According to most experts, if Wenger is to make a bid for the French international, then he is going to have to fork out around ten to fifteen million pounds for him, which is a fee that the Gunners can easily afford at the moment.
