Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger staying cautious over summer spending spree
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, had gone to admit that he is going to be more than just cautious in the upcoming transfer window.
The manager is expected to make a number of changes to his squad, in order to make the Gunners title contenders once again.
However, just when it seemed as if the manager would go all out in the summers, he has hinted to possibly go in completely the other direction.
The manager came forth and made these comments after his side went on to beat league leaders, Manchester United, by one goal to nil at the Emirates on May 1, 2011. As a result, the title race is now potentially wide open once again and with just three matches
left in the season, Arsenal now miraculously still seems to possess a chance at landing the Premier League crown.
After witnessing his young side go on to beat United, the manager feels that maybe his side are finally starting to live up to expectations that he had for them. Despite Arsenal’s average age being just over 23 years in the game, which is also the youngest
average age in the history of the Premier League, the players performed as though they were seasoned pros.
When talking about his future plans, Wenger is reported to have said:
"We want to add what is needed but I am very cautious with what I say because it can be turned both ways. It is very important for the club that we keep faith in what we do - you can see that the players grow when they get a chance. Like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wojciech-Szczesny-c36998,
compared to two months ago, he has grown. It is a law in our game - you can only grow at some stage if you play. People want both. They want to win every game and they want to produce fantastic quality young players as well. But if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 has grown this
season it is because he has played.

However, on the other hand, if you do not win, the same people say 'why do you play young players"?
Watching the Gunners performance on May 1, 2011, it is amazing to think that they aren’t in poll position to win the English Premier League.
However, at the same time what can be said, is that Wenger now possesses a team of highly talented youngsters, who could go toe-to-toe with just about any team in the world.
Nonetheless, the manager should still try to bring in some back-up in key areas like his defence and in the midfield. This is because the Gunners now have a brilliant starting line-up and just need to invest in depth, which we can assume Wenger is going
to do – hopefully.
