Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger unhappy about the fixture list – Premier League news
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed disappointment over the Gunners’ Premier League run-in schedule as every game of theirs is after Manchester United for the rest of the ongoing 2010-11 season.
Wenger said, “There are a lot of things going on which I don't want to talk about. I have been here for 15 years, I know how things work. I want to be completely neutral, like I have to be. I do not do the schedule. I look when do we play? It is on Sunday
until the end of the season.”
Even though Wenger did not admit that the results of the rivals could have any impact on his side, the fact of the matter is, they do have some sort of impact on a side’s performance.
Manchester United marked one of the best comeback victories in the history of football as they turned their 2-0 deficit into a 4-2 win against West Ham United at Upton Park in an early kick-off on Saturday.
On the other side, Arsenal failed to impress and endured a goalless draw against Blackburn Rovers at the Emirates Stadium in the late kick-off on the same day.
Nonetheless, it was Arsenal’s last game of the season which was to be played on Saturday. Now, Gunners’ each game is after Manchester United for the rest of the season but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insisted that his players must go back to basics and
timings of the fixtures should not worry them.
Wenger added, “Now we want to focus on our next game and show we are good enough. We have the players available for the whole week and what is important is we work on our basics and come back to what we are strong at.”
The Frenchman was not at all happy with his team’s poor show against Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 as the Gunners failed to get all three points. Arsenal are now seven points behind Manchester United in the Premier League standings, though they have a game in hand.
Now, Arsene Wenger wants his team to bounce back in an emphatic fashion when they play away against Blackpool on Sunday.
