http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 bid for Cesc Fabregas – Premier League Update
It is being reported that Arsenal have gone down to reject Barcelona’s official bid for captain Cesc Fabregas.
The Spaniards have been attempting to get a hold of Fabregas for the last two years, but have so far been unsuccessful in all their attempts.
Nonetheless, the Catalan’s seemed to have finally opened the summers biddings for Fabregas, by offering €30million (£27m). That fee was obviously far less compared to what Arsenal had in mind.
Arsene Wenger had previously gone on to place a price of around forty million pounds on their http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Captain-c8314 and stated that even if that offer was made, they would consider going through with the deal.
However, the Barcelona president, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sandro-c32460 Rosell has previously made it clear, that despite Barcelona’s interest in Fabregas, they would not be willing to pay over thirty five million pounds for his services.
Rosell is quoted to have said: "If last year we offered 40 million Euros [£35.5 million], it is clear that this year his value is less. Since then there has been wear and tear and he is worth less.
"Guardiola knows the values of players and Cesc's is less than 40 million Euros. Barcelona will offer less and, if they don't accept, then he won't come."
From the way things are shaping up, this offer made by Barcelona can be considered to be an icebreaker. The team probably made this offer to try and get Arsenal mentally ready for the fact, that Fabregas might not be playing as a Gunner next season.
From here on out, Barcelona are more than likely to increase their offer for Fabregas and are expected to eventually reach the thirty five million mark, as quoted by them earlier. Once that does happen, it is anybody’s guess as to how Arsenal will go forth
with the offer.
However, from the way things are shaping up, Fabregas is more than likely to heading back to the Camp Nou.
