Arsenal schedule move for Barcelona's Victor Vazquez after snatching Jon Miquel Toral Harper from the Catalans
Arsene Wenger seems to be drawn to Barcelona like a bee to honey. He recently snatched Barcelona's youth-academy star, Jon Miquel Toral Harper, in a very controversial manner and even after that 'immoral' act, he is once again at Camp Nou’s door. This time,
after Victor Vazquez, the winger whose contract is ending this season.
The 24-year-old player is due to become a free agent in June but does not seem to attract much interest from other Spanish clubs. The Arsenal manager on the other hand has been monitoring his game recently. He is believed to be designing a move to sign Vazquez
on a long term contract ahead of the Champions League showdown against Barcelona.
Arsenal will be able to make the contract with the player without paying any transfer fees since his contract with the Spanish champions would end, making the move even more attractive to the North http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 club.
If the 24-year-old Barca winger agrees it would unquestionably cause another huge outcry by the Catalans, since it is so early after the club took away their young 16-year-old player.
When the Barcelona president Sandro Rosell taunted Arsenal's chase of Toral as a little immoral, with the player set to follow Cesc Fabregas to the Emirates this season, Wenger answered him saying that, "Our interest was legal and he has an English passport."
Vazquez has spent the greater part of his career at Camp Nou, he came at the club when he was nine and had since then moved up through its ranks, playing mostly for Barcelona’s B team. He has made 106 appearances for the Barcelona B squad and scored 12 goals.
This season the attacking midfielder has been promoted to the first-team squad in 2008 by head coach Pep Guardiola. The winger played for Barcelona in the group stage win against Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League. He scored his first goal for Barcelona’s
first team against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Rubin-Kazan-c39193 in December last year, but has still spent most of his time as a reserve on the bench.
Vazquez's move could, yet again, spark another controversy between the Spanish giants and Arsenal. However, the events leading up to their UEFA Champions League 2nd leg tie, if anything, seem to be setting a platform for a grand spectacle. Both
teams battle it out this Tuesday, the 8th of March, at the Nou Camp.
