Barclays Premier League side, Arsenal FC has reportedly reignited their interest in Paris Saint-Germain starlet, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293. The Gunners will be evaluating the defender’s progress in the season’s remaining part. Should Sakho continue
his rich form, Arsenal is likely to formulate a purchase deal in the upcoming summer.
The Gunners manager Arsene Wenger has expressed keen interest in the French international and is likely to pounce on the opportunity, should Sakho be made available for transfer. Arsenal’s scouts will be watching the starlet play for Les
Blues, should Laurent Blanc give the player a start. For now, however, the evaluation phase is in progress.
The defender started off his career at Paris Saint-Germain’s youth side Camp des Loges in 2002 originally as a striker, but as the PSG team lacked defenders, he changed his game to a more defensive side. As a youngster at the youth side,
Sakho won a number of MVP (most valuable player) awards making him a hot prospect for PSG in the future.
In 2007, the PSG added the defender to the professional team on a three year contract. Despite being only 17 years old, Sakho was promoted to the senior side for the 2007/08 season and has continued to be the most valued property for PSG
with 85 appearances for the side, since his first appearance for the senior team. Further, Sakho has captained the youth side at the age of 17, making him the youngest ever captain of Paris Saint-Germain and also the youngest ever in Ligue 1.
Sakho has been a part of the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team since his early youth. The centre back has represented his country at U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19 and U-21 levels. Gaining much popularity at the youth sides, he was assigned captaincy for the
U-21 squad and would lead the squad in the 2011 UEFA European Under-21 Football Championship.
Sakho has also made his debut for the French senior team against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 in a friendly match. Laurent Blanc looks to the youngster with high expectations, believing him to be the future star of the national team.
Les Parisiens have been trying to keep the defensive lines intact by holding onto the French international, but they have failed to negotiate over his contract renewal. Sakho has attracted many clubs over the last few months including
Barcelona and AC Milan. However, the Gunners are leading the race to land his signature, while Arsene Wenger’s French connection has a big part to play.
Arsenal is willing to double the wages for the centre back and pay 13 million Euros, the price tag justified for Sakho who can prove to be a safe investment.
