After initially showing interest in Borussia Dortmund’s, Kevin GroBkreutz, Arsenal have now revealed their desire of signing Borussia Monchengladbach striker, Marco Reus. These reports have also been confirmed by the Foals manager, Lucien Favre, who is not
eager on selling the influential attacker.
Reus has reportedly been linked with a summer move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. The English Premier League side, Arsenal, have shown interest in recruiting the striker next year during summer, alongside Borussia Dortmund’s Kevin GroBkreutz.
The news was later confirmed by the Gladbach manager, who is currently not interested in selling the youngster. He wished to retain the 22-year-old at Borussia Park beyond next season especially after learning of interest from the likes of Bayern Munich
and Borussia Dortmund.
While talking to Bild, Favre mentioned: "I know Arsene very well and told him the truth: Marco is a very, very interesting player. But I am coach of Borussia and want to keep him. Yes! http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jens-Lehmann-c18297 gave him a tip to watch Marco. Then Arsene called me."
Reus, on the other hand, clearly stated his importance to the Foals despite being linked with a few big name clubs. He told that currently there are no reasons of parting ways with the club neither is he considering any such move for the time being.
The striker refrained from talking on his future and showed devotion to his current club by wishing to lead them into the Champions League next year. He added that it would be early to rethink his future in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 after achieving all the success in such
short time.
Favre applauded Reus’ stance over the situation and reserved praise for his commitment.
He concluded by further adding: "Marco has incredible qualities, but he can also improve in some ways. We are working every day. He needs a foundation to improve his game and he has it here with Borussia. I think that it might be too early for a change.
It would be good for Marco if he stays here for a year or two - and who knows, maybe he will also play at the top?”
Borussia Monchengladbach are currently fourth on the league table with 23 points from 12 games, equal on points with Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen. Favre’s men are five points adrift of Bayern Munich, who are currently leading the Bundesliga.
Reus has played a huge role in the Foals success thus far, having already scored seven goals from just the nine league games. The player will next be seen in action against Werder Bremen on Saturday, November 19, at Borussia Park.
