Arsenal to make move for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049 in January – Premier League Update
It is being reported that Arsenal are considering to make a move for Fiorentina playmaker and Italian international, Riccardo Montolivo in the January transfer window.
The midfielder went on to turn down a contract extension at Fiorentina and is set to be on his way out of the club in January. As a result, a number of teams have gone on to show interest in wanting to land the player, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 currently leading the
line of teams who are looking to sign the player.
The player seems to be taking the calm route when talking about his future, as he has gone on to admit that he is going to remain calm about his future and let the cards fall into place. He has admitted that the club could make him an offer that he couldn’t
refuse, or they could ask him to leave if they want him to.
 “I’m calm about everything”
“I have a good relationship with the fans, even if I haven’t had the easiest of summers”
The player went on to lose his captaincy at the club following his refusal to pen to paper on a new contract, which is one of the reasons for him wanting to move out of the club. However, the player feels that he is now going to have to work like a professional
and not let all the off the pitch antics affect his game.
“The club are free to do what they believe is right to me. All I can do is to work seriously and then we’ll see what happens.”
Should the Italian club work out a contract with the player, then he could pen down a deal to stick around until 2014, which would rule out any and all interests from other European clubs in the player.
However, should January come and the player remain without a contract, then he is set to be on his way out of the team.
With Fiorentina fearing the loss of the player on a free transfer next season, should his contract offer not go through, then they would be willing to let the player leave for a minimal price in January.
At the moment, the experts are lining up a fee of around seven million Euros to be the price that is going to get Fiorentina to sell their midfielder and that just happens to be a fee, that is easily in Arsenal’s reach.
It is now a wait till January to see what club Montolivo ends up at.
