Arsenal to swoop for Paris Saint Germain defender Mamadou Sakho
According to reports in British press, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has identified Paris Saint Germain (PSG) defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mamadou-Sakho-c23293 as someone who can end their defensive frailties.
Wenger has been alerted by the news that Sakho is ready to move abroad and the Frenchman is keen on bringing him to the Emirates, however, the stumbling block is the fee demanded by PSG, as the Gunners boss is reluctant to pay
over his very specific valuation for the talented centre-back.
A number of clubs are tracking Sakho with Premier League rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Serie A pace setters AC Milan in the list, but Sakho is holding out for a move to the Premier League, and if he does, his preferred destination would most likely be Arsenal.
PSG has reportedly told the player and his agent that they are willing to do a deal if any club meets their evaluation. The Paris based club has slapped a €20 million price-tag on their prized asset and will not settle for anything less than the quoted figure.
The report claims that Arsenal had a bid of €15 million rejected by PSG last week and it looks like a stalemate as both club’s are refusing to revise their figures.
The 21-year-old France international has three years left on his contract hence, is reluctant to hand in a transfer request and will honour his current deal which expires in 2014. The player is also happy considering in a recent
interview, he confirmed his intention to stay at the Parc De Princes, unless a decent offer comes for his signature.
