Arsenal vs. West Ham United: Player Ratings and Man of the Match Part 3
Continued…
West Ham United Midfielders
Scott Parker: 8
The talismanic midfielder of West Ham United performed remarkably well against Arsenal at the Emirates. Scott Parker was expert in breaking up play and tried his best to initiate attack for his team.
Moreover, Parker did not give much space for the Gunners and shackled Samir Nasri to a great deal.
Mark Noble: 6.5
Mark Noble was good in the match, though he tended to fade off as the match wore on. He was deadly with his long range shooting and also posed a threat from set-pieces. Noble’s two exceptionally well taken free kicks caused some problems
for Fabianski but never found the net.
Moreover, Noble tried his best to create plays to score, but was let down by some highly unimpressive performances from his attackers and wingers.
Luis Boa Morte: 5.5
Morte was unimaginative in midfield, and failed to create anything for his attackers.
Without a doubt, he worked tirelessly hard but without any visible purpose. West Ham united should think of another option in the future, a player who has more vision.
Arsenal Wingers
Samir Nasri: 7
The Frenchman was the soul of the Gunners attack but unfortunately he found little reward.  The 23-year-old French prodigy was good in his tricky interchanges inside the box, and tried to create the opener.
Probably, it was not to be his day, and a magnificent free kick which struck the bar only confirmed it. He was unlucky to engrave his name onto the score sheet.
It was a decent performance from the 23-year-old player, but needs to provide more width to the side. Moreover, Samir Nasri was comfortable playing in the centre when Denilson was substituted.
Andrei Arshavin: 6
The Russian dynamo looked sharp in the opening 15 minutes of the game, and made some good surging runs down the left side. The veteran left back boasted a great work ethic but found little reward.
However, Arshavin has certainly lost out on pace, and his body language is not great at the moment. Arshavin threatened greatly at times and provided strong passes, but was never really able to penetrate the opposition goal.
All in all, the Russian skipper worked hard, and needs a goal or two to give him a mental boost.
West Ham United Wingers
Valon Behrami: 5
He was anonymous for large periods of the game, and did not do anything worthy of a mention. Behrami needs to improve if the Hammers to get better over the course of the season.
Victor Obinna: 5.5
Without a doubt, Obinna was the only player that brought in a physical threat for the Gunners, but he also failed to produce anything special for his team.
Moreover, he took some free kicks but was not good enough. His performance showed that he can be an asset for Avram Grant in this season.
Arsenal Striker
Marouane Chamakh: 6.5
Arsenal new boy, Marouane Chamakh’s performance was quite similar to Cesc Fabregas; Chamakh was a tireless worker but failed to provide any spark to his team.
Over the time, Chamakh has become one of the most important players of Arsenal’s current squad. The former Bordeaux striker has featured in nine Premier League matches for Arsenal so far in this season.
Chamakh acquisition is considered one of the most impressive signing of the season. However, on the weekend against West Ham United, even he could not create much against an organized defence. Chamakh endured constant rough play from the
opposition backline but always provided a commanding presence in attack
