Arsenal without Samir Nasri and Francesc Fabregas (Part 1)
With so many new players flooding in for the Gunners, it was quite obvious that they might not settle well in the first season. However, they managed to do so. With their beautiful passing game, Arsene Wenger made a football playing side which could - if
not win, then at least challenge other teams for the four titles they were competing in.
There was not a set first team for Arsenal. However, there were favourites for Arsene Wenger. The French coach preferred a few players over the others but restricted his tactics for all the games.
Arsene Wenger made the same substitutions for almost all the games which Arsenal played throughout the season. The only innovative substitutions were made when there were injuries and a few players were unavailable to perform in the first team.
The favourite starting eleven for Arsene Wenger this season included the young goal stopper Wojciech Szczensy. The young goalkeeper helped Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Defence-c38904 ample of times. Szczensy was aided by Barcary Sagna in the right back position and Gael Clichy in

The left wing was occupied by either Andrei Arshavin or Samir Nasri. However, Arshavin made a lot of important appearances for the North London side and helped
them despite being on the bench for a lot of games.

Arsenal’s season ended trophy-less yet again. First the Gunners were knocked out of the Carling Cup. Even though the North London side managed to reach the final, the League Cup was the first tournament they were knocked out of. They had a chance to end
their trophy drought as they faced Birmingham City in the final, but one small incident caused them to lose the game 1-2.
