Arsenal’s Chairman, Peter Hill-Wood has gone on to reveal that the Gunners won’t be changing their wage structure to succumb to Theo Walcott’s demands.
As a result, the player could end up leaving the club for free at the end of the season, having already rejected a contract extension.
The twenty three year old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Manchester City, but despite that fact, the Gunners seem to be standing strong, and don’t seem to be willing to bend any time soon.
"We have got our general overall wage structure and we are not prepared to break it for anybody," Hill-Wood said in a recent interview.
"We have made an offer which he didn't think was acceptable and that is the end of it. We think it is a very reasonable offer.”
"For the moment his people are still talking to us and we hope it will be resolved. But don't ask me when, because I haven't a clue.”
"I hope that he will eventually come round and sign. It will be a pity if he does not, but the whole issue of pay for footballers has got totally out of hand and they don't get terribly well advised a lot of the time."
At the moment, Walcott has gone on to become an impact sub at the North London club, and a starter for League Cup games.
Over the last couple of seasons, he has shown hints of greatness, but those moments have been greatly covered with lots of madness.
On a number of occasions in the past, it was believed that the winger would be asked to leave, mainly because of his lack of consistency.
However, with him finally proving that he can be a great impact sub, and should he be given more time, he could display the same consistency over the course of ninety minutes, his worth has slowly started to grow at the club.
Nonetheless, with him not wanting to sign an extension based on Arsenal’s demands, and with the club not wanting to change their ways, it is going to go down to the wire to see just what the future holds for the winger.
