Arsenal’s Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain looking for England call-up
One of Arsenal’s latest signings and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain has gone on to admit that he is looking to break into the senior squad for England, having gone on to impress everyone with his performances on the Under 21 stage.
However, the player is looking to impress while playing for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429, to prove his true worth and then pave his way into the national side on his own, rather than having him included on a last resort basis.
One of the player’s motivations to playing in the England squad, is the fact that his dad represented the country in the 1980’s and as a result, the youngster wants to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Chamberlain is quoted to have said: “Things are looking good but there’s plenty I still need to do if I want to play for England one day, like my dad did”
“And hopefully win a few more caps than he did!”
“I always knew I wanted to be a footballer and, as long as that was my aim, then my dad would do everything to help me achieve it.”
Chamberlain has gone on to admit that his father is a crucial part of his footballing life and is the very reason for him being half as good as he is today. He then added that had it not been for his father, he would not be playing for Arsenal today, as
his experience made the move possible.
The teenager then went on to add: “He’s hands-on when he needs to be - he’ll let me know when I’m not doing well or need to improve something, and he gives me plenty of good advice.
Chamberlain then ended by admitting that he still had not reached the peak of his career and had a long way to go to reach that point.
Chamberlain then ended by stating: “I still realise now that I haven’t reached the pinnacles I plan to, so I wouldn’t say I’ve made it yet either.”
The youngster has been the shining star in the England Under 21 squad lately. The player has gone on to produce some brilliant performances, which has won countless people all over the world.
In the team’s last outing, Oxlade was brought of the bench when England were one nil down to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Israel-c2925 and he changed the face of the game completely. He went on to pick up three assists and win a penalty, which helped his team cruise to victory past the Israelis.
