Arsenal’s Alex Song to miss Premier League encounter against West Brom
Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to confirm that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 will not be available for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League encounter against West Brom.
Song went on to suffer a knee injury in Arsenal’s defeat to Birmingham City in the Carling Cup final at the end of last month and it seems like he has found it difficult to recover since then. So far the player has gone on to miss four games for the Gunners,
including the games against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 in the Champions League and the FA Cup clash against Manchester United. In the midfielder’s absence, Arsenal went on to lose both those games and are now in contention to only lift the Premier League trophy.
At the same time, Arsenal are now going to be without their Swiss defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Johan-Djourou-c18779 for the rest of the season, as he managed to dislocate his shoulder in the game against United. It also still unclear as to when Cesc Fabregas will recover from his
hamstring strain, which has now left Arsenal chasing the Premier League without a number of key players.
Wenger said while talking to reporters, "I don't think it's down to one player. We would like Song back and we would like Fabregas back. We have now to cope with Djourou [being] out and he is an outstanding player. I don't know (when Song will be fit again).
But certainly not for Saturday."
In the absence of Song, Wenger had relied on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Cameroon-c2865 International's shoes, and as a result, the team seems
to be missing their only legitimate holding midfielder.
It is not a new thing for Arsenal to have a number of their key players suffer injuries, but the timing of these injuries could potentially affect Arsenal’s career rather drastically. At the moment Arsenal can’t afford to take a gamble or slip up for even
a second.
The Gunners are currently trailing Manchester United by three points, but they do have a game in hand to make up for those points. However, if the team has to end up using their reserve players to do that, then the team will find it really hard to make up
the point difference.
However, these injuries are probably going to finally help Wenger realize that he needs to start investing in his medical team and hopefully that would help avoid such occurrences from taking place in the future.
