Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas claims his future is not in his hands – EPL News
Arsenal skipper, Cesc Fabregas, has expressed his frustration over the lack of trophies at Emirates Stadium and has also revealed that his future is not in his hands.
Fabregas, product of Barcelona’s famous youth academy, La Masia, has long been linked with a return to Camp Nou. The 24-year-old Spanish midfield star has spoken of his desire to join the Catalan club on a number of occasions in the past but he has admitted
that his future is not in his hands.
“Not everything depends on me. I wish it did, but as it doesn't it's impossible to say.” He said.
Fabregas’ return to Barcelona looked imminent last season when the Catalan giants made two official offers to sign him. Arsene Wenger, however, rejected both bids and managed to keep hold of La Furia Roja star in spite of the player’s wish to join the Spanish
champions.
And now rumours are rife once more; it is being reported that Fabregas is Barcelona’s top transfer target for the current transfer window. It is also believed that the European and Spanish champions have already made an offer of €30 million plus http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bojan-Krkic-c7794
and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-c34888 Alcantara.
Fabregas, who has not won a single piece of silverware with Arsenal in the past six seasons, has conceded that he wants to win trophies in order to excel.
“Barcelona guarantee titles in the past, present and the future. Just as Manchester United, Bayern Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Real-c30728 Madrid do; they are institutions which, whatever happens, will always guarantee you titles. And it's clear that I, as a player, want to keep
improving every day and see how far I can go,” added the Spanish midfielder.
The 24-year-old also expressed his frustration over not winning silverware and added, “I am [frustrated at not winning titles], I have said that. But I am only 24 and I said to myself the day I became a professional, that I wanted to be the best I could
become.”
Arsenal were firm favourites to win at least a trophy in the recently concluded 2010/11 season. However, the Gunners failed to deliver any silverware despite being going strong in four different competitions.
Arsene Wenger’s men did reach the Carling Cup final but after a disappointing defeat to Birmingham City at Wembley Stadium, the Gunners’ season dramatically derailed and Arsenal finished the season without any trophy.
