Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas pulls off another hamstring injury
The Spanish star, who is currently the captain of English team Arsenal, has been examined and it is told that he has pulled off a hamstring injury. This is the same “hamstring” that he managed to pull off while playing for the Spanish side during the FIFA
World Cup 2010.
Last night, Arsenal were up against the Portuguese champions Braga and it was expected that they might do wonders even though Arsene Wenger sent out an experimental first team. It was careless of the Professor that he played Fabregas even though the Spaniard
usually needs some rest whenever he is performing in all the games that Arsenal play. Obviously, the Spanish national is not the fittest player in football and Arsene Wenger should’ve rested him. Samir Nasri could be the player to replace him in the starting
eleven.
Not only did Arsenal manage to lose the game, in fact they were the ones who also lost their captain because of a hamstring injury which he suffered during the 70th minute. The Spaniard was seen limping for quite some time but the coach did not
notice him and that is the reason why he managed to make it even worse. In the 75th minute when medics finally saw Fabregas’ condition, he was taken off for the French national Samir Nasri who replaced him in the midfield to change the cause of
the game. However, nothing could be done as Braga were on the winning side at the end of the day.
Now, Arsene Wenger is in serious trouble as they are not at the top of the table anymore and despite the fact that they have such a huge goal difference, they are still not topping the table. Arsenal really need to work on the fitness of their players as
most of them are found injured whenever they go down for playing against a tough side or any Premier League side as the English league is considered to be the toughest in Europe.
The English giants, who are currently placed at number 3 in the Premier League, were considered to be the favourites to win the English League this season but now with so many injuries coming their way and even their favourite first-team striker Robin Van
Persie not fully fit, they are not expected to do much. Last week, they saw themselves losing to their local city rivals Tottenham Hotspur and even though Arsenal were the side who were 2-0 up in their home ground during the first half, they found themselves
losing the game 3-2 after the second half.
Fabregas is expected to be out for at least 3 weeks as it is predicted that his hamstring could not really take so much pressure and he was seen lying down on the floor while the medics took him out on a stretcher. Now that is bad news for the Gunners as
their captain is the source of inspiration for anything positive that takes place for Arsenal. With him out, the London side do not stand a chance of winning the Premier League.
