Arsenal’s Gervinho handed a three match ban for bust up with Newcastle’s Joey Barton
It has been officially confirmed that Arsenal forward and Ivory Coast international, Gervinho will now be facing a three match suspension for his bust up with Joey Barton.
The player has been found guilty of violent conduct and as a result, will have to miss out on all three games, that came with the red card that he was shown during the game.
During the game with Newcastle, Gervinho went on to burst into the opponents area. He then went on to get tackled and fell to the ground, in hopes of winning a penalty. However, Barton not being pleased with the way the player fell, went on to lift him by
his shirt and confront him. In order to defend himself, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gervinho-c14755 retaliated and went on to poke Barton in the face. However, the Newcastle midfielder fell to the ground like a sack of bricks and this resulted in the Arsenal player seeing a red and the Newcastle
player only being shown a yellow.
Arsenal went on to appeal this red card with the FA, but they seem to feel the same way that the referee did and have deemed Gervinho’s nudge on Barton’s face as a violent offence.
Due to this three match ban, Gervinho will miss out on the next three games for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429. These games are against the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United and Swansea. With two of Arsenal’s main rivals coming up in consecutive weeks, the North London side
would have not wanted to see their new signing get banned the way he did.
Nonetheless, there is very little the team can do now and a as a result, will have to re think their plan for the coming games.
However, that is not where the bad news stops for Arsenal. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804, who for some inexplicable reason went on to stop on Joey Barton in the same game, is in line to face a three match ban as well and this is going to rule out the holding midfielder form
all those games.
As a result, the Gunners are now set to take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and United, wtih two players who if anything are really crucial to their gameplan.
Arsene Wenger is really going to have to put his mind to the test and work out a solution on how his team is going to play in these upcoming games. Should the manager be able to get the better of his opponents in the coming three weeks, then Arsenal might
just stand the chance of landing some silverware this season.
