Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere still stands a chance of returning from his injury this season, as his knock is not as serious as it was initially thought to be.
Wilshere picked up a fracture on his foot in a per season game and since then, the player has been on the sidelines recovering.
Just when it seemed like the midfielder would be back to run the show in Arsenal’s midfield, he suffered another setback, as he suffered another fracture to the foot.
It was initially believed that it was a recurring fracture and that the player would be out for a lengthy spell, in order to recover from his injury.
However, an official statement released by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 has now revealed that the player’s new injury is not on the same location as his previous one and it is also not as serious as his initial injury was.
The statement released by Arsenal is quoted to have said: "The Club can confirm http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 has a small stress fracture to his right foot, however it is not accurate to state he has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.”
"The injury is in a different area to his previous surgery, and it will be reassessed in around two weeks time by our medical team and medical experts who have worked together throughout Jack's recovery.”
"This is a recognised complication of a complex rehabilitation process and, of critical importance, Jack's initial injury is recovering well."
The player also went on to confirm that his injury was not as serious as everyone was making it to be. However, despite that fact he was not certain when he would be fully fit and that it was going to be a wait for another couple of days before anything
could be said with certainty.
Wilshere when talking about his situation, went on to add: "I can confirm I have a stress fracture but it is not in the same area as my first injury which has healed very which I am happy about...”
It is now going to be a wait for the latest tests and scans to return, in order for the Gunners to determine just how long the player is going to be missing in action for.
Should his injury be as minor as it is believed to be, he could be back for the Gunners in March. However, if that is not the case, the midfielder could be ruled out till next season, while missing out on the Euro 2012 in the process.
