Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jack-Wilshere-c17463 keeps belief in title challenge as he feels Manchester United are bound to drop points
Arsenal’s surprise package of the season and teenage sensation, Jack Wilshere still strongly believes that Arsenal can go on to win the Premier League crown at the end of the season. The player is hopeful of the fact that United are bound to suffer a slump
in form near the end of the season, which could prove to be enough for the Gunners to land the Premiership crown.
United went on to lose to Manchester City this past Saturday, April 16, which saw United's treble dreams go crashing out of the window. Wilshere is now contemplating that perhaps this defeat is going to affect the Red Devils in the same way that the loss
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 affected Arsenal - Which saw the Gunners crash out of the UEFA Champions League and then go on to have a run-in of poor results in the Premier League and crash out of the FA Cup at the hands of United in their very next game.
However despite United and Arsenal having played the same number of games this season and with United being six points clear of Arsenal, the 19-year-old feels that Arsenal can still lift the trophy at the end of the current Premier League campaign.
When talking about the situation at hand, Wilshere is reported to have said, "I definitely still believe we can win the title. We are confident United will drop points. We suffered after we lost to Barca in the Champions League. It was a hard two weeks for
us and now the same can happen to United."
The player then went on to state that perhaps the extra fixtures that United have coming up might also do the Gunners a favour, "They lost at Wembley and then have a big Champions League semi-final [against Schalke] coming up. Maybe that can put them off."
Lastly, the player stated that if all else fails, then perhaps when United make the trip to the Emirates, Arsenal would have to take matters into their own hands to throw United off their tracks.
"The other thing is, they still have to come to the Emirates. If we beat them, then maybe we can put them on a bad run," concluded the Englishman.
One might argue that all Wilshere is doing is wishful thinking, it seems highly unlikely for United to not win the Premier League at this point in the season. However, what we can give to Wilshere is that at least he doesn’t lose hope all that easily, and
a season isn't over until it's over.
