Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere left out of England U21 squad for the European Championships in Denmark
Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884. He told that he was unhappy with the decision and wanted to be a part of the Three Lions squad for the competition.
He mentioned that he had been working hard on his fitness and expected to be a part of the U21 set-up. Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, voiced his opinion on the youngster’s omission, saying that he would have suffered from a burnout and perhaps the England
manager has made the right decision.
The Three Lions manager, Stuart Pearce, has also revealed that player’s burnout was the main reason to leave the 19-year-old out of the final squad.
A frustrated Wilshere said, "My main emotion is frustration. Over the last few weeks, I started to get a bit tired and I spoke with the manager at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and the fitness team and I spoke with Stuart Pearce and I told him. I said I wanted to go but I was
a bit concerned with my fitness. When they showed me the stats, it didn’t really sink in at first, but it just kept going down, on a downward spiral. Maybe that was coming. Over the last four games, after about 60 minutes, you feel a bit more tired than you
did in January."
The youngster, though, believed that he is fit to represent England’s U21 and added that no one knows about his fitness better than himself. He enthused that he told both his managers regarding his fitness and it was all precautionary. He repeatedly expressed
disappointment for not being picked and urged Pearce to reconsider his decision of leaving him out.
The 2010/11 PFA Young Player of the Year concluded by saying, "I am 19 and I have just got into the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196 injured so I can keep my place in the England team. Even today, if they had announced that I
was in the squad, I would have gone. I would never have pulled myself out and said ‘I’m not going’."
Wilshere, despite being just 19 years of age, made a hugely impressive 35 league appearances for the Gunners this season, playing key roles in many important victories.
