Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner reveals that moving to Barcelona will be a dream come true
Arsenal’s out-of-favour striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nicklas-Bendtner-c27726, has revealed that he would love to join Barcelona, if given the option at the end of this season.
The Danish international is expected to meet with Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger, to express his discomfort and discontent over the lack of regular starts he has been given this season.
The Danish international has failed to secure a regular spot in the starting eleven lineup of Arsenal, as he has only appeared thrice for Arsenal in the Premier League games.
Besides his frustration over lack of first team starts, he has also expressed his disappointment for being played out of position this season by Arsene Wenger. He has been deployed at right wing throughout the current season by Wenger, a position Bendtner
believes is not his core competency.
The 23-year-old expressed his desire to join the biggest club of the planet, Barcelona, saying, “If it's a free choice, I choose http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605. I've never had any idols in the football world but if I had a dream player to play with then it would be Xavi and
[Andres] Iniesta”.
The Copenhagen born, Bendtner, seems to be in extreme frustration after Wenger made him sit on the bench for most of the season.
The striker has just passed a mere 467 minutes on the ground as a part of Arsenal’s first-team compared to the 13 appearances he made the last season.
Bendtner, who was signed by Arsenal in summer 2004, has been overshadowed by the brilliance of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380. Wenger prefers to include Persie over Bendner and the Dutch international has fully justified his manager’s decision to include him.
The Holland international, Van Persie, has been in sublime form ever since the season kicked off and has scored a staggering 15 goals so far in the 2010-11 season. The Dutch international is currently placed fourth on the list of highest scorers this season.
United’s manager, Alex Ferguson, has admitted that it is all fair on Bendtner’s part to be in a state of discomfort but he remained optimistic about the Danish prolonging his stay at the Emirates.
Wenger said “It's certainly not the best thing for me but it's not up to me and sometimes you have to adapt to that”.
Talking about the probable meeting with Arsene Wenger, Bendtner said, “I need to have a talk with him [Wenger] because I'm not satisfied with playing on the right wing, which I've done more or less all season long”.
It has been reported that two German outfits, Bayern Munich and Hamburg, are trying to recruit Bendtner by putting up a financial bid in the summer transfer window.
