Arsenal’s Pat Rice believes Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain can become a great player – Premier League Update
Arsenal’s assistant manager Pat Rice strongly believes that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Oxlade-Chamberlain can become a very crucial player for his club and country in the near future.
The youngster was signed by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in the summers from Southampton and since then, he has gone on to massively impress, every time he has taken to the pitch for the team.
Last night, Chamberlain was in his first ever European game and even started the match. The player was playing on the right flank and based on the similarities between him and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, many believed that this would be the ultimate test to decide just
which player is better than the other.
At the end of the day, Chamberlain impressed just about everyone with his performance. The eighteen year old scored a brilliant goal and looked lively during the whole game.
"From Arsenal supporters' point of view, they are going to be seeing a lot of this boy," Rice told reporters.”
"He has a big, big challenge to now get in front of Theo. I know that Theo is a very strong-willed guy as well and he won't give in easy. It all bodes well for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 anyway.”
Pat Rice then went on to highlight the player’s abilities as he added: "Alex can go inside, he can go outside, he's got that injection of pace and I think what he needs now is to be consistent in his play. I am sure that is something he will be working on
because he's certainly not a stupid boy.”
Having said that, Pat Rice then admitted that Chamberlain could learn a lot from Theo Walcott and that it was only a matter of time, before he broke into the first team, on a regular basis.
Last night, Chamberlain displayed the intelligence that he possessed as he constantly made intelligent runs forward. The main difference between him and Walcott, was that Walcott tends to just zip forward without any intention of doing damage, while Chamberlain
attacks the opposition, looking to get the better of his opponents on every occasion.
His passing was spot on and he proved that apart from shooting and crossing with both feet, he had the right mindset to find the back of the net in a pressured situation.
All in all, it seems like Wenger’s decision to go over the top when signing Chamberlain was actually a very good one and now it is only a wait to see just how long the player is going to take, to break into the Arsenal squad and potentially replace Walcott
for good.
