Arsenal captain, Robin Van Persie has admitted that he is surprised by the way the Gunners have managed to turn their season around, as they look to push for a spot in the top four.
Arsenal started their season off on the wrong foot, as they lost some key players early on.
Following the loss of those players, the Gunners went on to pick up a series of poor results, including an eight goals to two thumping, at the hands of Manchester United.
However, the team is now sitting in the fifth spot, with just twelve points separating them from league leaders, Manchester City.
Van Persie himself has gone on to pick his pace up, as the striker has scored sixteen goals. However, the player has admitted that it is the new experience that has come into the squad, that has really helped the team get together.
When asked whether he was surprised by the way the Gunners have started to perform, the striker is quoted to have said: “Maybe a little bit. We had to get used to the new players [who signed at the end of August].”
The striker then admitted that a lot of credit had to be given to the other senior players in the team, who had been helping him throughout his reign as Arsenal’s captain.

"I have to give lots of credit to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yossi-Benayoun-c37520 - great characters, really helpful in every area. When I need assistance, they are always helping me.

"Mikel, for example, played seven years at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904. They have really helped me."
Should Arsenal maintain the form that they have started to show, it wouldn’t be hard to see the team go on and pick up a number of wins over the course of the coming months.
At the same time, the team still stands an outside chance of winning the Premier League title, should they keep their heads straight and hope for everyone else to fall apart.
