Arsenal’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 believes they have an advantage of focusing only on the Premier League
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 striker Robin van Persie feels that getting thumped out of three competitions in space of 13 days can help the Gunners in winning the English Premier League title in the ongoing 2010-11 season.
The Gunners lost to Birmingham City 2-1 in the final of the Carling Cup. A week later, they were dumped out of the UEFA Champions League by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604 and Manchester United defeated them in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup recently.
The Dutch striker is disappointed to lose out on other competitions but he believes that it will help his side to concentrate on the Premier League.
“We're five points behind Manchester United, but have a game in hand, so we can narrow the gap to two points. It's actually an advantage that we're no longer active in other competitions, so we won't get distracted. We still have everything in our own hands
and will do our utmost to win the league title, even though we have been dealt a few big blows in recent weeks,” van Persie said.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Feyenoord-c39258 striker believes that the Gunners should learn from their mistakes because these things are part of the game. He showed great disappointment for losing the Barcelona game from a winning position but feels that the Catalans played better
football and they deserved to win.
Van Persie believes that football is a game that any team can win on its day. He said that Birmingham City defeated them in the final of Carling Cup but lost their next four games, so it was all about luck.
Arsenal wasted a wonderful opportunity to close the gap on League leaders Manchester United after they drew 2-2 against West Bromwich Albion over the weekend. The Gunners came back from a 2-0 losing position and would find themselves lucky to salvage a point
at the Hawthorns.
Van Persie is presently on international duty for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hungary-c2920 in the Euro 2012 qualifier.
