Arsenal’s attacking midfielder c*m winger, Samir Nasri, has revealed that he would prefer team’s success over his individual honours. He was talking in the wake of his team’s missed chances which has had a negative impact on the Gunners current season.
The winger was delighted at his personnel achievements this season but insisted that he would want the Gunners to lift major silverware in future. The Frenchman rued the missed chances and claimed that had Arsenal grabbed them with both hands, the entire
story could have been different.
Nasri was one of the nominees for PFA Player of the Season and finished runner-up to Tottenham Hotspur’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gareth-Bale-c14422. The versatile winger has also been named in domestic team of the season, which sums up an exceptional season for the 23-year-old.
He wished that he could win trophies with Arsenal and further added, "I don’t care if I’m second or even the best player in the league, I would have preferred to win the Premier League. I have won nothing since I became a professional at Marseille - I have
always lost in the final or finished second in the league."
The French International made his way to the Emirates in 2008 after serving the Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Marseille for four years (2004-08). Since making his debut against West Bromwich Albion in August 2008, Nasri has made 83 League appearances for the
club so far and has 18 goals under his belt. The current 2010/11 season has been phenomenal for the midfielder as he has scored ten goals alone this season.
He also reflected upon Arsenal’s disappointing results in recent weeks which started from a disappointing draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809; Arsene Wenger’s side conceded an equaliser in the 12th minute of injury time. The stalemate was followed by a slump
against the Spurs, where Arsenal relinquished a 3-1 to draw the game 3-3. Arsenal then travelled to Reebok stadium in a bid to regain some form but ended up dropping all three points against Bolton Wanderers.
Arsenal are currently third in the League table with 67 points and have three games left to be played in the 2010/11 campaign.
