Arsenal’s Theo Walcott believes win over Udinese will give Gunners spirit massive boost
Arsenal winger and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 has gone on to admit that the win over Udinese last night, is going to give him and the Gunners a much needed confidence boost.
The North London team seemed to be on the bottom of the table, following the loss of their captain Cesc Fabregas and their inability to win their opening fixture of the season.
However, it seems like all of that might change, should the Gunners keep up the same form that they showed against Udinese.
Arsenal took on the Italians in a must win game and were determined to come out on top. The team started off by taking the game to their opponents and in the fourth minute, Walcott struck for the Gunners and gave them an early lead. This early goal proved
to be the only goal of the game and helped Arsenal pick up the win.
When asked if the win was going to have any positive effects on the team and if it was going to give the Gunners a motivational boost, Walcott responded by stating: "Yeah of course, but the most important thing was a clean sheet and our defence was solid
yet again, just like at the weekend.
“It’s nice to get the goal, but they’re a strong team and we’re going to find it difficult over there, but we believe if we play the same football we can get the right result.”
Walcott's comments echoed those of Aaron Ramsey, who also triumphed Arsenal's ability to keep their opposition's attack at bay for the second consecutive game: "I think it was important to keep a clean sheet tonight, but they were a good opposition, it was
a difficult test for us, but we came through it and scored a goal.
“But it’s still far from over. We’re going over there with a game to go and hopefully we can finish the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 off.”
The player then went on to admit that some of the squad members had really impressed him during the game and the way http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Aaron-Ramsey-c3065 played, was quite simply outstanding.
Having said that, Walcott admitted that despite this win the Gunners just can’t take their opponents lightly. The Italians are set to take on the North London side at home in the second leg and unless http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 take their ‘A’ game with them, they could potentially
still lose the tie and be knocked out of the Champions League right away.
Nonetheless, with their confidence now in place, Arsenal are more than likely to make their way to the group stages of the tournament.
