Arsenal’s Theo Walcott delighted with improvement in his performances
Arsenal’s English winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873 has gone to admit that he is more than just happy with the performances that he has put in this season and strongly believes that he has reached a whole new level on which to play.
The twenty-one year old mercurial forward has gone on to score eleven goals in thirty-two games for the team this term and has picked up ten assists along the way.
However, out of those thirty-two games that the player has played, he has only started twenty of them and hence that just makes his stats look even better. At the same time the forward has spent a majority of the season out on the treatment table, which
just makes us wonder just how brilliant the player would have been, had he been fit throughout the course of the season.
When talking about the season and himself individually, the player is reported to have said:
“I’m happy with what I’ve given to the team and think I’ve learned the game more. I’m putting in balls for people to gamble on which I think they are getting used to, so hopefully that will continue and I can keep on improving. I definitely think my goals
and assists have stood out, given that I’ve missed 12 or 13 weeks through injuries I couldn’t prevent”.
It is easy to see just what Walcott is talking about when looking at his stats during his spell as an Arsenal player. Having joined the team way back in 2006 from Southampton, the player is statistically having the best season of his Arsenal career.
Prior to the 2010-2011 season, the highest number of assists that the player has had, was seven and that was in the 2006-2007. At the same time the highest number of goals that the English forward has previously score in seven, which came in the 2007-2008
season.
Nonetheless, apart from creating goals and scoring them, there has been a whole new level of maturity that Walcott has shown this term. The player has now gained control over his blistering pace and can leave a defender, or, two for dead when he wants.
The player’s footwork has also taken a giant leap forward, as he no longer fumbles over his own legs to give possession away to the opposition. In the game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 he even went on to show that he is no longer afraid to take a pop or two at goal
from range and that is something that is greatly encouraging for any Arsenal fan – since the team have a reputation for not really attempting to shoot at goal.
However, the player could still use some help improving his crosses, apart from which his game seems to be as complete as it has ever been.
Nonetheless, Arsene Wenger and almost every Arsenal fan will be hoping that the player manages to develop even more, as a player over the course of the coming months, since that would greatly aid the Gunners cause to landing some form of silverware sooner
rather than later.
