Arsenal’s Theo Walcott demands more mature performances from Gunners

Arsenal’s twenty-two year old winger, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Theo-Walcott-c34873, has gone on to state that it is high time that the Gunners start putting in more mature performances and stop blaming everything on their youth.
The player even came forth and stated that it was time for the players to take responsibility for their actions on the pitch, since not everything can be blamed on Arsene Wenger.
Arsenal are currently set to see the season out without a single trophy and should this happen to be the teams fate at the end of the season, then it would be the sixth year that the North London team have gone on to not lift a trophy.
The team has been put under a lot of criticism over the last couple of weeks. However, Walcott believes that it is high time that the players step up to the plate and start to take some responsibility for the results that Arsenal have been producing.
When talking about the predicament the team is in and how everything gets blamed on the youth at the club, the player is reported to have said:
“If we want to win trophies we need to learn. We can't be using the excuse of being young players. We're experienced. We need to stand up for ourselves and take responsibility at times, and I'm not sure we are always doing that”.
Arsenal are currently sitting in the third spot in the Premier league and are nine points behind league leaders, Manchester United. The team has gone on to drop a massive thirteen points this season, when it was believed that they would surely go on to win.
As a result, the team has been labelled as the masters of choking under pressure and there is very little that the Gunners faithful can say in their defence to make anyone think otherwise.
Walcott seems to agree with the situation, only he has a slightly different take on it. The player is quoted to have said:
“Maybe not cave in when it comes to the big occasion, when we are 2-0 up and needing to kill a game off, which we don't do”.
There is a very hazy line between not being able to kill a game off and bottling under pressure, since ultimately both of them lead to dropping points and not winning games that you are supposed to.
Nonetheless, Wenger really needs to step his game up at the club. In recent weeks the manager has often appeared to be on the edge of his seat, only to be imploding on the inside and not on the outside.
It is also high time that the manager started to develop an option ‘B’ and ‘C’ since whatever the team are doing at the moment, can be labelled as option ‘A’ and it just isn’t working.
The Gunners do manage to produce some of the best games ever witnessed, but almost every fan of the club would be willing to trade those performances in for one nil victories.
What Wenger does in the coming months, before the start of the season will go on to show just how capable he really is, should the manager be able to pull Arsenal out of this ditch, he could be hailed as one of the greatest ever.
On the flip side, should he not be able to win anything for another season running, it would be high time for him to throw in the towel and let someone else take charge of the team.
