Arsenal's Theo Walcott hails Tottenham Hotspur winger Gareth Bale
Arsenal star Theo Walcott has issued high praise for Gareth Bale, claiming that the Tottenham Hotspur winger is the most exciting talent currently playing in the English Premier League.
As a result of his performances so far this season, Bale has received plaudits from all corners and Walcott, who played alongside Bale when both were at Southampton as youngsters, is looking forward to facing his former team-mate in the London derby between
Arsenal and Spurs at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 20 November.
When asked by FATV who the most exciting player in the England was, he replied: “In the Premier League? Gareth Bale for me. I am actually looking forward to playing against Gareth Bale because me and him grew up together at such a young age at Southampton and
we've known each other since we were 10 or 11-years-old. So it's going to be another nice little treat for us both."
Bale came to world-wide prominence when he showed off his talents in two games against defending European champions Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League group stage.
Though Spurs lost 4-3 in the first match at the San Siro, Bale was named Man of the Match for his hat-trick and efforts in helping his club to almost draw level in the dying minutes despite going 4-0 down and playing with 10 men for most of the game after goalkeeper
Heurelho Gomes was sent off after just eight minutes.
The 21-year-old excelled again in the return match at White Hart Lane, as he set up Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko for goals in a memorable 3-1 victory.
The Wales international also proved to be the match-winner in Spurs 4-2 victory over Blackburn Rovers on Saturday 13 November as he scored two and set up a third for Pavlyuchenko.
